When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.

45“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. 46When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it.”

What is your pearl of great price – the treasure for which you would give almost anything –the something of surpassing worth?  For what would we as a congregation risk all we have?

August 22, 2010 Psalm 62:8 – Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge.

We all are afraid of something or someone. I know some retired folks that are afraid of running out of money. I know some people that are afraid of losing their job. I know others that are afraid of getting cancer. To others losing their youth terrifies them. What do you fear? Is your fear holding you back from responding to God’s call to be a faithful steward? Listen to the promises of psalmist. If God is your salvation you have nothing to fear, He will give you strength.
